Footnote for the curious who remember Clippy but are wondering "what is that blob beaming down to earth from the mothership?" Meet Copilot Appearance. Introduced in July as a chat-buddy, this is an attempt to make synthetic relationships in AI feel more human. It uses sentiment analysis to provide a vibey visual. Like many features and offerings, it's experimental and tentative. I'm a skeptic, but we'll see how it fares.
